MAC Angel Lipstick | Review

Hi guys!! If you haven’t noticed yet…I love lipstick! I took a trip to the MAC store hoping to pick up a lipstick that I have been wanting to get my hands on for several weeks now. I picked up MAC ANGEL and I am SO excited about it!! The color is absolutely gorgeous. I wanted Angel in particular, because it can be worn during the day for work or running errands, and it is also ideal for a night out when paired with a nude or soft pink lip gloss. You can even pump up the pink by wearing a bright lip liner underneath, or make it appear more nude, by priming your lips with concealer or a soft pink liner.

I am looking forward to mimicking Kim Kardashian’s former infamous lip combo which consisted of MAC Angel topped with NARS Turkish Delight lip gloss. The finishing touch of Turkish Delight generates a softer-pink look. I already tested out the duo and of course, my lips looked like heaven (super dramatic, I know). M E T A L L I C ➸ T A T T O O S

 HELLO Fashionistas! I am SO excited about fall’s most popular trend: Metallic Tattoos. These tatts were super HOT during the summertime, especially at music festivals (Coachella, anyone?). Thank goodness this trend is sneaking into autumn, because I’m nothing less than obsessed. I went out last weekend and put this little geometric design on the inside of my forearm (see below). So in love I wish it were real! The four tattoo packs pictured above were purchased from A.C. Moore and super duper inexpensive. They are so incredibly shiny, metallic and so much fun. They bring back a little piece of my childhood, but in a slightly more fashionable way 😉 I think i will wear the feather design next!

 

Money $aver Monday: Hair Dye

If you’re only touching up your roots, use box dyes. For the past several years, I used to head to the salon once a month to get my roots dyed since my hair grows insanely fast. I would end up dishing out $45 (after a family discount) plus a $15 tip (I always tip on the pre-discounted total). That is a whopping total of $60 for just a simple root touch up. I would spend an astronomic $720 a year on maintaining the color of my roots. NO thank you.

The key is to try narrowing your salon trips down to about three/four times a year, and turn to box dyes for the remaining months. Let me put it into perspective. I altered my salon frequency by only going three times a year. For the remaining 9 months of the year, I started utilizing my favorite drugstore hair dye (pictured above) which costs about $8 depending on the store. This little budgeting tactic brought my NEW annual hair-coloring total to only $252. In my case, that’s an annual savings of $468!

⭐ Takeaway: Don’t spend more than you should on touching up your hair. A few times a year of skipping the salon and touching up your roots at home can save you hundreds. Be smart about managing your finances, while still looking fabulous 😉

URBAN DECAY NAKED 3 PALETTE – REVIEW

Finally, I took the initiative to purchase the ever-so-popular and HIGHLY anticipated NAKED 3 PALETTE. This is the first Naked palette of my collection, so I am probably a lot more excited than most. I utilized this palette on several occasions, and have received COUNTLESS compliments on how my eye makeup looked. I honestly owe it all to this compact palette. The colors and quality are through the roof. They are ideal, sexy, and feminine, and the rose-gold tones are superb. Spring into Things

Jump into the Spring of things…wear yellow! Sometimes yellow is a hard color to pull off, especially for me. However, it exudes a springtime feeling and is absolutely adorable paired with white and/or black. I personally like to wear softer yellow hues, because it goes nicely with my lighter skin tone. Darker skin tones can pull off a brighter yellow, because the color won’t look too harsh on the skin. The outfit above certainly makes a springtime statement, and can be worn from day to night. I love how the black accessories contrast with the lighter hues that form the ensemble. So, what are you waiting for?! Give yellow a chance this season!

Tribal in the City

I hope you all are having an amazing day! Tribal & Aztec prints are such fun looks to sport, especially during the spring & summer months. I recently became OBSESSED with wearing the color Blue, and even splurged on several blue nail polish hues to suit my new found fixation. I was inspired by a specific street style ensemble when I put the above outfit together. How cute is the blue Chanel purse?!  I think the bright pink lipstick totally pops against the cooler tones of the outfit.  I also love how she styled a casual denim top with a more dressy skirt and metallic pumps. I hope that this fun, springtime look inspires you like it inspired me! Happy Styling!

Beauty Review – Giorgio Armani Primer

Hello beauty fanatics! I want to share my opinions regarding the Giorgio Armani Primer. First of all, I love it. I started using this beauty item for about a year now, and haven’t even tried another primer since! While applying this primer, the product effortlessly blends in with your skin, and ultimately feels as if nothing is on your face. This product is very matte, which couldn’t be more perfect for those of you who have rather oily skin (such as myself). This primer also sets a wonderfully smooth foundation to further apply your makeup. As for all designer beauty items, the price tags can be quite steep, but also for all designer beauty items, the quality is outstanding. What primer is your favorite?!

Primped and Polished

I recently purchased a few nail polishes that caught my eye in the store! These colors are essential for every girl’s nail polish collection. The two pink hues are rather similar, but even the smallest color variation definitely makes a difference. The green hues are also necessary for summer, because if you couldn’t tell already, I recently am OBSESSED with green, so of course I had to purchase these two sassy shades. Which one is your favorite?!
